ABSORBERS

The history of the pad absorbing meat, fish and fruit spills dates back to the 1950s in the USA. Initially, the materials that absorb spills were tissue paper, cotton fabrics or non-woven fabrics, as well as sponges. In the early 1970s, a super-absorbent polymer of acrylic acid was developed, now found in pads under the names SAF, SAP or SAG. The absorption capacity is tens of times greater than its weight.
